Program Overview
The Digital Art Centres (DAC) initiative is a flagship talent development program led by ABAI in collaboration with the Government of Karnataka, aimed at integrating digital creative skills into academic institutions.
DAC focuses on bridging the gap between traditional fine arts education and the evolving requirements of the AVGC-XR industry by introducing students to industry-relevant tools, workflows, and career pathways.
Implemented across multiple institutions, the program enables early exposure to animation, VFX, gaming, and digital content creation—helping students transition from foundational artistic training to professional industry roles. With over 25+ centres already established and expanding, DAC is building a scalable and inclusive talent pipeline for India’s creative technology ecosystem.
Training Modules
The DAC curriculum is designed to be industry-aligned, modular, and focused on practical learning across key AVGC-XR domains.
Core training areas include:
Digital illustration, concept art, and visual development
2D and 3D animation fundamentals, including character & environment design
Visual effects basics, compositing, and motion graphics
Portfolio & showreel development aligned with industry hiring standards
Each module emphasizes hands-on learning, enabling students to work on real-world assignments and build strong, industry-ready portfolios.
Partnerships
DAC is implemented through a collaborative ecosystem involving ABAI, academic institutions, and industry stakeholders.
Partnerships focus on:
Integrating industry-relevant curriculum within academic institutions
Enabling access to digital tools, infrastructure, and training resources
Conducting workshops, masterclasses, & mentorship sessions by industry professionals
