Karnataka was the first Indian state to announce an AVGC policy in 2012.
The policy was initiated to promote the state as a lucrative outsourcing destination and attract venture
capital funding in the AVGC sector. This in turn aimed to provide employment to educated youth and
bridge the gap in the demand and supply of skilled resources.
