GAFX 2019 packed a mix of well-curated and effective sessions by distinguished professionals and chieftains of AVGC sector. While Makuta co-founder and VFX veteran Pete Draper illustrated the importance of visual effects in today’s world with an enlightening session, it also served as an extension of his previous address.

Grand Ballroom played host to a much-needed panel on the need for gender equality in creative arts. Payal Dani from Mill Film, Anugraha Pearly from Sun Network, Priya Krisnan from IMAX and Anika Negi from Technicolor Games graced the panel with elaborate inputs and insights about the progress women have made over the years. AVGC industry has been hitting an inflection point with the rapid progress tracked over a short space of time in the last number of years. Making my way to the premises of Hotel the Lalit Ashok at Bengaluru, I wondered what that summit really entails. From what I was reliably told, GAFX 2019 is pegged as the leading conference that cuts across every note of AVGC scale and I was there to behold that symphony. Bengaluru to host Gaming, Animation, Visual Effects conference from June 21

The Bengaluru GAFX conference, Asia’s largest animation, visual effects, gaming and comics (AVGC) event, is coming alive in Bengaluru. The three-day event will be held from June 21 at The Lalit Ashok, Bengaluru. The event will be organised by the State Government and Association of Bangalore Animation Industry (ABAI).

Karnataka Govt aims to make Bengaluru an animation, VFX services destination

From the stop-motion film made by Dadasaheb Phalke in 1912 to the stupendous visual effects of Baahubali 2 in 2017, animation in India has come a long way in the past 100 years. And while the field of animation and visual effects in India has quite a few achievements to showcase, it also remains somewhat fragmented. Bengaluru GAFX – being held this weekend at the Lalit Ashok – promises to change that by bringing together national and international participants and experts onto a single platform over three action-packed days (May 12-14).

ABAI launches educational initiative to promote animation in India

Association of Bangalore Animation Industry (ABAI), the largest non-profit association to promote animation in India, is introducing first-of-its-kind educational initiative in Bengaluru city referred to as ‘Train the Trainers‘ and is actively supported by Department of IT, BT, S&T – Government of Karnataka.
