Karnataka Govt aims to make Bengaluru an animation, VFX services destination

From the stop-motion film made by Dadasaheb Phalke in 1912 to the stupendous visual effects of Baahubali 2 in 2017, animation in India has come a long way in the past 100 years. And while the field of animation and visual effects in India has quite a few achievements to showcase, it also remains somewhat fragmented. Bengaluru GAFX – being held this weekend at the Lalit Ashok – promises to change that by bringing together national and international participants and experts onto a single platform over three action-packed days (May 12-14).

ABAI launches educational initiative to promote animation in India

Association of Bangalore Animation Industry (ABAI), the largest non-profit association to promote animation in India, is introducing first-of-its-kind educational initiative in Bengaluru city referred to as ‘Train the Trainers‘ and is actively supported by Department of IT, BT, S&T – Government of Karnataka. The program is slated to start on April 21, 2014.

ABAI: KAVGC 2013 Summit concludes in Bangalore

The Karnataka Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (KAVGC) Summit organised by the Association of Bangalore Animation Industry (ABAI), in collaboration with the government of Karnataka concluded on Thursday 29 August 2013, ending two days of power packed sessions by Indian and international experts from the industry and the Karnataka state government.

B’luru to get Digital Media City soon

After excelling in IT and BT sector, the State is all set to give the much needed filip to the Animation, Visual Effects ,Gaming and Comics (AVGC) sector.
Soon, the City will have a State-of-the-art post production laboratory and a Digital Media City. Announcing this, the Minister for Information Technology and Biotechnology S R Patil, said that the State is planning to set up a post-production processing facility on a public-private partnership (PPP model) for the animation and gaming sector. He was speaking at the curtain raiser of the three-day Association of Bangalore Animation Industry (ABAI) Fest which will begin in the city today.
